We had had several days of warning that this was approaching and that it would be very uncomfortable. In the Richmond, Virginia area one usually sees
this kind of temps in the middle of July or in the first part of August before the
shortening of the days begins to affect the hottest part of the day.
On July 3, in the afternoon around 4 pm we reached the temperature on our outside porch as registered on our thermometer. This is the first time I've blogged about a high summer temp. t came neare this temp today, and many fireworks were cancelled because of fire danger.
